    Overview
    The course is designed for undergraduate students of four year bachelor programs. It provides a general introduction to Mao Zedong Thought’s scientific indications, which includes its composition and development, its scientific system, its basic principles and points, its soul, its historical position and its guidance.
    The course provides students with the chance to learn the theories and experiences about the new democracy revolution and socialism construction, in order to help students understand that Mao Zedong Thought is a great achievement of combination between Marxism and Leninism with Chinese characteristics, which is considered a first historical leap. It also facilitates students to understand the main contents of Mao Zedong Thought and its soul, to establish the belief on Marxism and consolidate faith on Socialism and Communism.
    Learning Outcomes
    By the end of this course students shall be able to:
    l          Possess an analytical ability to handle problems, and erect the world view, outlook on life as well as values
    l          Know something about the main content and living soul of Mao Zedong Thought in order to help students to set up the belief of adhering to the Leadership of Chinese Communist Party as well as to follow the socialist road
    l          Understand the key principle that China can be saved and its development can only be realized only under the leadership of the Communist Party and following the socialist road.
    l          Learn the law of the development of contemporary Chinese sociality, enhancing the belief that adhering to the leadership of Chinese Communist Party following the socialist road. 
    l          Raise self-awareness of building up socialism with Chinese characteristics
    l          Understand the basic theories on Mao Zedong Thought and know how it’s developed and how it functions.
     
    Teaching Method
    The principle on the guidance of teachers and student-centered is adhered to and special attention is given to the combination of history theory and practice. The course focuses on encouraging students to be able to analyze and study practical problems, and the scientific thinking pattern. The discussion-oriented teaching method is adopted with the interaction between teachers and students. The cases–discussion and analysis on topics is also used with teachers making the assessment on their case analysis. Multimedia teaching measures is commonly used in the course in order to enhance a strong visual for teaching, as well as to get better teaching results.
