δӢZĿΪChina has introduced the new Labour Contract Law, which has introduced new income tax rules and tougher pollution-control requirements for the country. These measures, which came into effect on 1 January 2008, have seriously affected many Hong Kong SMEs in the Guangdong Province. In addition, investors from Taiwan and Korea are also being effected by the implications of the new Law and as a result, many businesses are having to close down.
Why is the impact so serious? What can the Mainland Government do to mitigate the “blow” to these enterprises?
